What to Expect on the Consultation
The call is fifteen minutes, by phone. We will briefly discuss what is going on for you, what you have already tried, and whether my approach is a realistic fit for where you are right now. I will be honest with you either way. If the practice is not a good fit, I may provide referral options when available. No preparation is required, but if you want to be ready:
What you are dealing with
A brief, honest description of what’s going on, intrusive thoughts, anxiety, habits, or whatever led you here. You don’t need a formal diagnosis or speech.
What you have already tried
Previous therapy, self-help, medication, or anything else. What helped, what did not, and why you are still looking. This helps me quickly tell you whether what I do is different enough to be worth your time.
Questions for me
Anything you want to know about my approach, what a typical course of treatment looks like, or whether your situation is something I work with. The call is a two-way conversation.
A Strong Fit for Specific Problems
This practice is designed for adults dealing with OCD, intrusive thoughts, mental compulsions and reassurance-seeking, anxiety and panic, body-focused repetitive behaviors, and trauma. Treatment is structured and evidence-based, yet it never loses sight of the person we are speaking to. If you are not sure which specialty applies, these pages explain each area before you reach out. While these are the primary diagnoses we work with, we are able to treat common co-occurring conditions such as depression, substance abuse, and other related conditions.
What Working Together Costs, Stated Plainly
Private pay, $200 per session
The consultation is free. A superbill may be available for possible out-of-network reimbursement; check your plan’s terms. A limited number of insurance-based appointments may be available separately through Headway. If insurance availability is full, you may need to use your plan’s directory to locate another in-network provider.
Telehealth availability
Murad Counseling PLLC provides telehealth therapy for adults in Texas, Washington, and New Hampshire, where Felix Murad is licensed, and in Florida through out-of-state telehealth provider registration.
